Ned Ross

Vice Chair

Ned Ross has enjoyed a 37-year career in the energy industry in the natural gas, electric, and home services sectors. Roles include legal and regulatory affairs, land acquisition, and energy trading for regulated and competitive energy businesses. Prior to forming Ned Ross Strategic Services, he most recently spent twelve years with Direct Energy overseeing Texas governmental and regulatory affairs for the southern and western states and was named interim lead for Direct’s North American Governmental Affairs team during the acquisition of Direct by NRG. This work involved contacting lawmakers, regulatory authorities, and staff to educate and persuade officials to gain favorable treatment on matters critical for the business. Previous employers included NextEra Energy, Duke Energy Trading, Dynegy, Louisiana Resources Company, and United Gas Pipe Line Company.

Ned earned his BBA from Southern Methodist University, his JD from South Texas College of Law, and his membership in the State Bar of Texas. He was elected by his industry peers to serve as the retail electric segment member of the Board of Directors for the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) in 2019-20. Ned has proudly served numerous philanthropies including the Board of Directors of the Texas Energy Poverty Research Institute and the Children’s Advocacy Centers of Texas. He devoted many years to local youth through coaching and volunteering for many youth sports teams and organizations. He and his wife, Lauren, have four adult-aged children.
